PARENTS AND STUDENTS: We received this email in the office this morning. Great job Knights!!

What a great example and sportsmanship you showed down at the VB State game!

“Good morning!

I am an Osage volleyball mom, my daughter a senior. Yesterday was Osage’s 7th straight

state appearance, her 4th. Neither of our schools got the outcome we hoped for. What I

saw yesterday was something like I’ve never witnessed before. Your Unity Christian

student section showed the best sportsmanship like conduct! We as parents and fans tried

to get our own student section pumped up with little success. All of the sudden we heard

the “noise” we had been waiting for and looked over to see Unity Christian students

cheering and getting our student section pumped up, changing the atmosphere. They

could have been the silent spectator but they chose to help out our team. Words cannot

describe all the emotions I was feeling but the pride and respect I felt for Unity Christian’s

student section topped it off! Their actions yesterday will be what I will always remember

about my daughter’s 2022 state volleyball tournament, not the loss, not the scores. When

the tears cleared after our loss, the first thing my daughter said was “ did you see Unity

Christian cheering for us”. I sure did and it did not go unnoticed by any of us from Osage

and I think a lot of other people from other teams noticed too. So thank you to your student

section and the amazing cheers and support they showed. Your school and community

should be very proud of your students and it says a lot about your school. I hope our own

Osage students find a way to pay it forward in some way, some day. With all the negative in

today’s world, this has helped restore my faith that there is still good in kids out there. So

please thank your student section, parents & faculty of Unity Christian for me.

Sincerely appreciative,

Shawna Francis”
