The Weekly Knightline October 19-24

The Unity Christian Board of Trustees is now accepting nominations for the new At-Large Board Trustee position.
While supporting churches will continue to nominate Trustee candidates for two Board positions each year, the third position will be filled through the new At-Large nomination process. This position is designed to identify individuals whose gifts, experience, and perspective can strengthen the Board's work.
As the Board considers its current needs, we are particularly interested in individuals with experience in construction or facilities management, institutional advancement, executive leadership, and strategic planning. We invite members of the Unity Christian Society to prayerfully nominate individuals who are committed to Christian education and who may bring strengths in these or other areas.
Additional information about Trustee qualifications, responsibilities, and the nominations process can be found in the attached flyer.
To submit a nomination, please complete the online nomination form by November 2: At-Large Board Trustee Nomination Form
Thank you for helping identify individuals who can provide faithful leadership and support Unity Christian's mission for years to come.
For more information, see Board Nomination Flyer.

A Tree Lighting Opportunity at Unity
Parents, we would like to light up the trees on our campus with solar powered Christmas lights this upcoming Christmas season. It costs approximately $25 to purchase solar powered Christmas lights for a mid-sized tree. Would you consider a donation to the Genesis Arboretum and this cause? Mr. Haan and students will begin decorating trees in early November. For more rationale about the project please visit the arboretum website. If you would like to donate please use the Unity Venmo handler: @UnityChristianHighSchool (Unity Christian High School Association). Please use "Tree Lighting" in the memo instead of emojis. You can also turn in cash and check (memo: Tree lighting) to donate. Thank you for helping us share the light of Christ by lighting up the trees on our campus! Donations will be accepted through Friday, November 20.
Vanilla Extract: Imitation vanilla will remain available in the office throughout the school year. Please note that while it may not be routinely featured in the Knightline, you are welcome to stop by the office to pick it up at any time.
School Social Worker: Lindsey Borkowski is a mental health therapist through Sioux Center Health who comes to Unity Christian every Tuesday. She is here to listen, support, and help students navigate any challenges they may be experiencing. Each Unity student can receive two free sessions before services would need to go through insurance.
If you are interested in services for your child, please email Lindsey at lborkowski@unitychristian.net or call Sioux Center Health at 712-722-8222 and ask to speak to Lindsey.
Lunch Money & Pre-ordering: Please make sure your student has a positive balance in their lunch account and that you pre-order their lunches in advance.

When our students have 1:30 dismissals on Fridays, our teachers gather together for professional development. We have been blessed with wonderful snacks for our teachers on these days in recent years, and we are again seeking volunteers this year. If you are interested and willing to help provide snacks for around 30 teachers for their professional development time on 1:30 dismissal Fridays, sign up here! Snacks for Teachers' PD Fridays
