SPORTS REPORT
Girls soccer was busy this week with 3 nights of games. On Monday, they played Western with JV winning 1–0 and Varsity losing 0-1. Tuesday's games were against Sioux City East. Both teams lost, JV 0-2 and Varsity 0-5. Thursday night we played Sheldon at home and came away with two wins. JV won 8-1 and Varsity won 9-1. Well done, ladies!
Thurs 4/13 Golf @ Hinton results - Boys lost; Unity-182 Hinton 171; Girls lost; Unity 235 Hinton 223. Titan Hulstein placed 3rd and Tait Groeneweg placed 4th; Lauren Vande Griend was runner-up and Sadie Goebel placed 3rd.
Congrats to the boys track team on a strong showing at the Sioux Center Invite. Meet highlights include: 1st in Long Jump-Cody Feikema; 2nd in High Jump-Kyan Emmelkamp; 3rd in 4x800 Relay-Daylen Mulder, Jonathan Breems, Ezra Landman, Lane Scholten; 1st in Distance Medley Relay-Ethan Van Ginkel, Braeden Bosma, Landon Meerdink, James Foreman; 1st in 400m Dash-Dylan Obbink; 3rd in 200m Dash-Kolton Smit
CHEER TRYOUTS! All previous and future cheerleaders are required to participate in tryouts. Please wear navy shorts, a white t-shirt, white socks, and white athletic shoes. Tryout Clinic dates (6-7:30am): Mon 4/17, Tues 4/18, Mon 4/24 & Tues 4/25. Actual Cheerleading Tryouts will be on Wednesday, April 26 at 4:00pm. Click HERE for more information and to register! Booster Club board is seeking new board members for the 23-24 school year. Please consider becoming a Booster Club board member! Flipping Class Periods 7th and 8th - April 17, 25 and May 1. This helps students who participate in spring sports and need to leave early for games/meets.
TULIP FESTIVAL OCCS TENT - Students, do you want to earn some extra money during Tulip Festival? You may sign up to have your name listed to work, for hire and earn $50.00 (typically a 3.5-4 hour shift). If you are interested, please text your name, age and phone number to Nancy Kroeze at 712-578-9172 by Monday, April 17. This list of workers will be distributed to families of OCCS, the week of April 17, who will contact you directly. Please note: freshman age to 18 years old may work certain jobs in the tent. The OCCS families will be aware of what jobs those are. If you have any questions, please call Nancy. Thank you!

LIFE SERVE BLOOD DRIVE @ Unity is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17 from 9:00-1:30. Scan the QR code on the posters around school to register. Students 16-17 years old must obtain parent permission. Permission slips available in the office.
FFA EARLY BIRD PLANT SALES! Friday, April 28 3:45-6pm and Saturday, April 29 9am-12pm. 200+ hanging baskets, tomatoes, sweet & hot peppers, broccoli, celery, cabbage, pansies, zinnias, marigolds, coleus, verbena, impatiens, geraniums, petunias and more! Free will donations to FFA.

Paraprofessional (new) - This hourly position will begin in the 3rd week of August and go through to the end of the 23-24 school year in the 4th week of May. Work hours are expected to be from 8:15am until 3:45pm each day. To learn more about the position contact Mrs. Dana Broers at 712-737-4114 or at dbroers@unitychristian.net.
Kitchen Staff (new) - This hourly position will begin in the 3rd week of August and go through to the end of the 23-24 school year in the 4th week of May.
