ACT Prep Class - We are excited to offer ACT Prep again this year! Mrs. Clark is offering Prep sessions ahead of the April 13 test date. Sessions will be Saturday mornings 9-12 at school starting February 24. Total cost is $150. If you are interested in signing (your child) up or have any questions, email Mrs. Ruth Clark at rclark@unitychristian.net and she will take care of the rest! The class will be capped at 25, so please email by Saturday, Feb. 3, if you are interested. See this letter for more information.
NEW NURSE:
We are excited to welcome to Unity Melinda Scholten! Please join us in welcoming her. She has already been blessing our students and staff here at school and we pray that her transition to this new position is smooth! WELCOME MELINDA!
Here is a little bit about her:
My name is Melinda Scholten and I am the new school nurse at Unity; I will also be helping out in the office. I graduated from Dordt with an ag business/animal science degree and then went back to NCC for nursing. I have been a nurse for 18 years and have worked in both hospital and clinic settings at Sioux Center Health and Promise Community Health Center. I really enjoy patient care and am looking forward to trying something new and being part of the team to encourage wellness at Unity!
I am married to Joel and we live on an acreage between Sioux Center and Maurice. We have 4 kids - Lane is a junior and Jenna a freshman at Unity, Dana is a 7th grader and Elsie a 3rd grader at Ireton Christian. We attend Bethel CRC in Sioux Center. As a family, we enjoy camping, playing games, and spending time together. I enjoy attending my kids' activities, gardening and helping on the farm, and spending time with family and friends.
I am looking forward to getting to know the students and being a resource at Unity!
