ANNOUNCEMENTS

Cross Country Fan Bus: Students, If you rode the fan bus to the State Cross Country meet in Fort Dodge on Oct 28 please stop by the office today if you haven’t already done so!!

Combo Night is TONIGHT at 7:00pm! This year we are using Bound for tickets. Purchase ahead of time the same way athletic event tickets are purchased. Adults are $8; K-12 are $5.

Praise and Worship Night: A Praise and Worship night, sponsored by the Student Council, will be held next Tuesday on November 14 at 7:00pm. Invite your friends and family to come and join us!

BLOOD DRIVE: Next Monday, November 13, there will be a blood drive at school by LifeServe Blood Center. With some changes to their COVID protocols, they will be bringing their "bloodmobile", so if you want to donate blood, you will go outside to the bus they'll bring along instead of donating in the Knight Center as we've done before. In order to donate, you need to be 16+. The Blood Drive will run from 9 AM until 1:30 PM. There are quite a few time slots available and given the huge need that blood centers have right now, let’s try to fill all of the time slots. If you are interested, you can sign up in the office by scanning the QR Code and picking up a permission form. For those that have donated before through LifeServe, you do not need a permission form. If you've never donated blood before, you need to have the permission form signed in order to give blood. You can bring that back to school and give it to the nurses when you donate. Talk to Mr. Byma if you have any questions.

Honor Band: Congratulations to the following students who auditioned Saturday and made it into the NWIBA Honor Band: Kate Van Grouw - Clarinet; Addie Oschner - Alto Sax; Mackenzie Huizenga and Calum Monroe - Trumpet; and Mikayla Vollink - Trombone. Honor Band Festival will be Saturday, Jan 6, 2024, in Sioux City.

COIN WAR: Unity will be having a coin war during the week of Nov. 13-17! It will be a competition between classes. (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) Everyone should be thinking ahead and saving up that pocket change! The charity that we give the money to will be chosen by the winning class! THIS IS A COMPETITION!

Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House: In your living group classrooms students might see little house shaped boxes. These boxes are there so that when you finish a drink that is in a can and has a pop tab, you can break it off and put it inside the box. This raises money for the Ronald McDonald House, which is a place where families of kids who are in the hospital long term can go to sleep and rest near their child without going back to their homes that might be far away from the hospital. Some Unity families have stayed there and it is a great place that we can easily support just by breaking off our pop tabs!
