SPORTS REPORT

STATE CHEER - Unity’s Cheer team performed at the State Cheerleading Competition this past Saturday in Des Moines. Ava Noyes, Emma Sandbulte, Kaylee Dykstra, Kenna Huizenga, and Lauren Noteboom competed in the Stunt Division and Amaya Vande Vegte, Ava Noyes, Eliana Zhang, Emma Sandbulte, Kaylee Dykstra, Kenna Huizenga, Lauren Noteboom, Lily Bonnema, Maria Wang, and Rachel Murphy competed in the Game Time Spirit Division. All of our performances went really well, and although we didn’t score in the top 5, we had clean, well-executed routines, and we learned a lot about ourselves, each other, and the demands of the sport of cheer. These young women have spent many hours in practice and it showed in their maturity and poise when it came time to perform. We thank God for travel safety and protection from injury, and for the ability to use the gifts and talents He has blessed us with to bring Him glory. A huge THANK YOU to the parents and fans who made the trip to support and cheer on our cheer team! The competition was a great finale to the football and competition cheer season. Way to go, ladies!

Boys BB practice starts Monday, November 13.

PARENT - TEACHER CONFERENCES:

Conferences are available to be scheduled TODAY, Tuesday, November 7 from 4:00-7:00pm. Conference slots are 10 minutes each. Conferences at Unity are optional, though we strongly encourage you to meet with your kids' teachers. It is an important partnership that is critical to your child's academic success. To register for a time slot, go into the parent JMC module, log in, and click on “Teacher Conference Scheduler”. Choose the time slot/s that work for you.

COIN WAR: Unity will be having a coin war during the week of Nov. 13-17! It will be a competition between classes. (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) Everyone should be thinking ahead and saving up that pocket change! The charity that we give the money to will be chosen by the winning class! THIS IS A COMPETITION!

Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House: In your living group classrooms students might see little house shaped boxes. These boxes are there so that when you finish a drink that is in a can and has a pop tab, you can break it off and put it inside the box. This raises money for the Ronald McDonald House, which is a place where families of kids who are in the hospital long term can go to sleep and rest near their child without going back to their homes that might be far away from the hospital. Some Unity families have stayed there and it is a great place that we can easily support just by breaking off our pop tabs! EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
