District Speech Results: District individual speech was a day packed with performances! We received some 2 ratings and several 1 ratings. Those who received 1 ratings will advance to state at Fort Dodge on March 11!

SPIRITUAL RENEWAL WEEK 2/27-3/2: This week Pastor Tim Breen will be leading us through a series he calls "The Bible Museum." He will speak on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. He will provide us a devotional for Living Groups on Wednesday in line with his talks.
SPRING PLAY HELP: Anyone interested in helping with hair and makeup for the play, sign up in Ms. Van Dyke's room.
Unity Christian's spring production, Sarah, Plain and Tall, will take the stage on March 16, 17, 18 at 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
HIRING NEWS
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Jonathon Holwerda has accepted the newly created Director of Learning position at Unity Christian High School for the 23-24 school year. Mr. Holwerda holds a Masters degree from Dordt University in Educational Leadership. He has taught at Unity for the past 8 years, serving as Instructional Coach for the past 2 years.
The Director of Learning position is a new administrative position at Unity. The decision to create this position comes out of Strategic focus group work and also through ongoing conversations at the Board level over the past 12-15 months.
The Board is excited to elevate support for the academic work of the teachers through the creation of this position. The Director of learning will lead in the areas of instructional coaching, professional development, resource management, and academic success measurement.
We are excited to announce the hiring of Lindsey Van Schepen as our Head Volleyball coach. Lindsey is a familiar face to our program having served as our JV coach and Varsity assistant in previous seasons. She is currently working part time at Dordt University. We are also pleased to announce the hiring of Jill Haan as our Varsity Volleyball Assistant coach. Jill is a graduate of Unity Christian and also currently working at Dordt University. Please welcome them to the Unity family.
We are pleased to announce the hiring of Ruth Clark for the 23-24 school year. Ruth will be teaching here full time, joining the English Department. She has taught high school English in California and Nebraska and has also taught at Sioux Center Christian.

Kitchen staff positions. These hourly positions will begin in the 3rd week of August and go through to the end of the 23-24 school year in the 4th week of May. Work hours are expected to be from 10am until 1:30pm each day.
